The Vamp platform is designed to automatically link content for easy tracking and analysis. However, in some cases, content may not link automatically (e.g., if hashtag stickers are used in stories instead of text). Brands can manually add URLs directly to the deliverable to ensure all results are captured.
This guide outlines the process for manually adding links, troubleshooting errors, and best practices.
Manually Adding Links to Content
If content hasn’t linked automatically, you can add the URL manually. Here’s how:
- Collect the URL from the relevant platform where the content was posted.
- Add the URL to the deliverable by selecting the "Edit Link" option.
Note that creators or brands can now either use the short URL from the TikTok app or desktop version when adding the social link for a TikTok deliverable.
This will pull in the associated results for that content.
Troubleshooting Common Link Errors
If the platform doesn’t allow you to edit the link, follow these steps based on the error message displayed:
-
"Invalid tokens" error
- To fix this, ask the creator to log out and log back in to the Vamp app, reconnecting their social account(s). This process resolves token-based issues. For more details, please refer to our article. on account connection issues.
-
"Link has already been used" error
- Follow these steps to resolve:
- Verify the number of content deliverables assigned to the creator.
- If only one deliverable is allocated, ensure there aren’t multiple link fields in the deliverable modal.
- If you notice duplicates, please submit a support ticket through the chat widget in the bottom right corner of your page.
- Follow these steps to resolve:
Best Practices
To ensure accurate tracking and minimize the need for manual adjustments, Vamp recommends adding links to deliverables as they go live. This practice keeps content tracking smooth and reduces the likelihood of errors.
